Solicitation Number: VA241-12-R - 0649 Notice Type: Combined Synopsis/Solicitation Synopsis: (i) This is a combined synopsis/solicitation for commercial items prepared in accordance with the format in Subpart 12.6, as supplemented with additional information included in this notice. This announcement constitutes the only solicitation; proposals are being requested and a written solicitation will not be issued. (ii) The solicitation number is VA241-12- R - 0649 and is issued as an RFP. (iii) The provisions and clauses incorporated into this solicitation document are those in effect through Federal Acquisition Circular (FAC) 2005-56, effective April 2, 2012. Provisions and clauses incorporated by reference have the same force and effect as if they were given in full text. The full text of the Federal Acquisition Regulations (FAR) and Veterans Affairs Acquisition Regulations supplement (VAAR) can be accessed on the Internet at https://www.acquisition.gov/far/ (FAR) and http://vaww.appc1.va.gov/oamm/vaar (VAAR) (iv) This solicitation is issued as a sole source requirement. VISN 1 Contracting Activity intends to negotiate a sole source under the authority of FAR Part 6.302-1, only one responsible source to the vendor, Olympus America Inc. located at 3500 Corporate Pkwy. Center Valley, Pa 18034. However, all other responsible sources that feel they can meet or exceed the specifications of the requested line item(s) may submit a capability statement, proposal, or quotation, which may be considered by the agency. The North American Industry Classification System (NAICS) code is 334516,, and the size standard is 500 employees. This state-of-the-art system provides high definition digital images of stained tissue slides, which will serve as novel image-based biomarkers that assist early prediction of cancer risk and guide personalized cancer surveillance strategies.
