Description
SUBJECT: The Great Lakes Environmental Research Laboratory, in Ann Arbor, MI intends to acquire Underwater Temperature Sensor with accessories. The temperature sensors to be purchased will be used to make hourly time series water temperature measurements in various parts of the Great Lakes over intervals of months to years. These measurements will be used to maintain and expand GLERL's research program on the effects of climate change on the Great Lakes Ecosystem. Salient Characteristics : This purchase is for 54 autonomous temperature sensors plus 6 autonomous sensors that measure both temperature and pressure. The units will be deployed at several locations in the Great Lakes for periods of a year or more to make hourly time series measurements of temperature (and pressure). The units purchased must meet the following specifications. General specifications: Max rated depth - at least 300m Powered by an internal battery that will last for at least 30,000 samples Battery must be able to be replaced by user Alkaline batteries are preferred, but small lithium batteries are acceptable Self-contained memory that can store at least 30,000 samples Memory can be downloaded using standard communications protocols (RS232 preferred) with vendor supplied software to any standard personal computer Temperature sensor specifications: Operating range of at least -5°C to 30°C Accuracy of 0.1°C or better Resolution of 0.05°C or better Drift of no more than 0.01°C/year Time constant must be less than 5 minutes Clock specifications: Internal clock must be able to be set by user Sampling rate must be able to be set by user between at least 1/minute and 1/day Accuracy of at least 1 minute Drift of no more than 1 minute/year Pressure sensor specifications: Range of at least 0-300m Accuracy of 0.5m or better Resolution of 0.5m or better Drift of no more than 0.5 m/year Costs for any required accessories (communications cables, software, etc) should be included in the quote. Estimated shipping costs (ground) and delivery date should also be included in the quote. This is a small business set-aside. The NAICS code is 334519. Firms who believe they have a product that will meet all the requirements specified herein, including form fit, and function, and delivery must furnish detailed information concerning their capability to provide the supply and satisfy the Government's needs. Along with descriptive literature on the equipment being offered must be provided. In addition shall include name, telephone number and address of concerns for which you have furnished this type of equipment previously. The Eastern Region Administrative Division (ERAD), requires that all contractors doing business with the Acquisition Office must be registered with the Central Contractor Registry (CCR).
