- Description
- The Samuel S. Stratton VA Medical Center (hereafter "The VA" or "VA"), located at 113 Holland Avenue, Albany NY, 12208, has a requirement for a New Emergency Department. The work includes but is not limited to the following: The project includes construction of an approximately 28,200 square foot addition to the Main Hospital building at the Stratton VA Medical Center. This addition primarily is for an approximately 10,400 square foot new Emergency Department at grade on the end of the hospital's B-wing. The remaining area is intended as a new connector to the main hospital's building core, shell space for later offices and a shelled basement underneath all grade-level additions. It has been determined that there are qualified firms in each socioeconomic category that are capable of performing under NAICS Code 236220, "COMMERCIAL AND INSTITUTIONAL BUILDING CONSTRUCTION." The estimated construction value of this project falls within the range of $5,000,000 and $10,000,000. Determining a set-aside category is dependent upon the bonding capacity of the offeror. This is a sources sought to determine in order of preference below, the number of qualified firms who have adequate bonding capacity for the construction value of this project. The order of preference is as follows: Service Disabled Veteran Owned Small Business Veteran Owned Small Business 8(a) Firms (Pursuant to Section 8(a) of the Small Business Act (15 U.S.C. 637(a)) HUBZone Firms (Pursuant to 15 U.S.C. 657a) Any other small business category Two or more firms must submit evidence of adequate bonding capacity from the same socio-economic category in order for the acquisition to be set aside for that category. Again, the order of preference above applies. "Adequate evidence of bonding capacity" will be determined by the contracting officer upon review of submitted information. The submission shall also include the offeror's DUNS number. Notification of Interest, including evidence of bonding capacity, shall be submitted as soon as possible but no later than 9:00A EST, 19 April 2012.
