Description
SOURCES SOUGHT SYNOPSIS FOR Hatch Severance Assemblies (HSA) B-2 Bomber Aircraft Department of the Air Force, Air Force Materiel Command, OO-ALC/GHGKA PURPOSE/DESCRIPTION This is a Source Sought Synopsis announcement, market research for information only, to be used for preliminary planning purposes. This market research is being conducted to identify potential sources possessing the engineering and manufacturing knowledge for the Hatch Severance Assemblies consisting of left hand and right hand Horseshoes and racetracks used on the B-2 Aircraft. The horseshoes consist of a U-shaped linear shaped charge (LSC) and the racetracks consist of a rectangular-shaped LSC. The LSC is installed in a rigid foam charge holder that serves to protect and position it correctly in relationship to the vehicle skin. The horseshoes and racetracks are initiated by an input signal received from detonation transfer assembly (DTA) lines. The function of the racetracks is to create decompression ports allowing cabin pressure to equalize prior to crew seat ejection. The function of the horseshoes is to sever the aircraft skin allowing the hatches to be jettisoned prior to crew seat ejection. These components are all part of the B-2 egress system. No proposal is requested or accepted from synopsis. This is not a solicitation for proposal and no contract shall be awarded from this synopsis.
