During the Base year, work will be performed primarily in Imperial County, CA. The scope of work includes drilling of geophysical test holes to assess the potential of geothermal energy sources. The test holes should generally be designed to be drilled between 500 and 2000 feet below ground surface. The drilling is designed to determine the presence of geothermal potential within the project areas while avoiding the actual intersection with high-temperature (geothermal) fluids. Blowout prevention equipment (BOPE) may be required dependent on site-specific conditions. Casing, tubing, piping, and cementing in accordance with standards and specifications will be used. Drill sites may be located within the boundaries of active military range lands. The purpose of the geophysical test hole drilling includes seeking elevated subsurface temperatures at shallow depths, gathering physical down-hole geologic data, and possibly recovering fluid samples, so as to further evaluate the geothermal prospect. 12)Source Selection: Offers will be evaluated using Best Value, Trade-Off procedures that will result in a MASC.
