- BACKGROUND: From May 2011 to September 2011, the Missouri River and several of its tributaries in the states of Iowa, Kansas, Missouri, Montana, Nebraska, North Dakota, and South Dakota experienced record flooding. On December 23, 2011, the Disaster Relief Appropriations Act (DRAA) was passed and approximately $500 million was allocated to the U.S. Army Corps of Engineers, Omaha District for flood repairs in the Missouri River basin. DRAA funding was divided into two distinct appropriations: 1) Operation and Maintenance (O&M) for repairs to dams and reservoirs, and 2) Flood Control and Coastal Emergency (FCCE) for repairs to levees and drainage structures. TECHNICAL REQUIREMENTS: NAICS: 237990 (Plus others on occasion) Repairs to the Missouri River and tributary levees, dams, and reservoirs are necessary. These contracts may include: levee construction, levee resurfacing, interior drainage structures, seepage berms, riverside restoration, riverside scour repair, setbacks, relief wells, spillway repairs, outlet tunnel repairs, foundation drains, gate repairs, bank stabilization, road repairs, and cultural resources protection. In addition to the Missouri River and its tributaries, affected dams within the Omaha District are located below: Montana: Fort Peck Nebraska: Gavins Point North Dakota: Garrison South Dakota: Fort Randall Big Bend Oahe CONTRACTING OFFICES RELEASING SOLICITATIONS FOR RELATED CONTRACTS Due to the large volume of contracts necessary, some contracts that might normally be advertised by Omaha District (W9128F) will be advertised by Galveston District (W912HY) and Walla Walla District (W912EF). Please monitor solicitations placed by those districts for contracts opportunities described above. Solicitations for routine operation and maintenance services, supply, and construction may be advertised by Galveston District and Walla Walla District as well.
