Description
Establish Blanket Purchase Agreement (BPA)-Marine Inspections and Evaluations for the Soo Area Office a.The contractor shall provide the necessary tools, equipment, instruments, and materials to perform engineering inspections and evaluations with written recommendations, findings, and/or quality control for work performed either by contractors or Government employees, on structures and equipment associated with floating plant, marine, lock, and hydropower applications. In most cases, all work is to be provided in the field, which is generally at the Soo Area Office in Sault Sainte Marie, Michigan, 49783, however calls may be required at other locations throughout the Detroit District, U.S. Army Corps of Engineers. Contractor must also have experience with inspection and evaluation of barge and derrick hulls. Floating plant and marine equipment includes, but is not limited to, derricks, cranes, barges, tug boats, stiff-leg derricks, a lock gate-lifter derrick, equipment and components used in hydropower generation plants, steam generation plants and associated equipment and steam lines. Engineers providing the services must be trained and hold the following minimum certifications: i.Professional Engineers (PE) Registration. ii.Accredited Marine Surveyor to OSHA 29 CFR Part 1919 for shore based material handling devices, floating cranes and derricks power. iii.Certified by National Association of Corrosion Engineers (NACE) International for corrosion control design.
