Description: Solicitation Number: N62271-12-Q-1035 Notice Type: Special Notice Synopsis: This synopsis provides notice of the Government's intent to solicit a proposal on a sole source basis (FAR 6.302-3) from Woods Hole Oceanographic Institution (WHOI), 266 Woods Hole Rd, Woods Hole, MA 02543-1536 for the testing, delivery, training, and remote technical support of an Remus-100 Docking Station. The need of the Naval Postgraduate School Center for Autonomous Vehicle Research consists of the below. 1.Take delivery of a NPS REMUS-100 (GFE) for system testing at contractor facility. System testing shall validate all mechanical, electrical, acoustic, and software interfaces with the NPS vehicle configuration. Final seawater testing shall confirm proper operation of the NPS REMUS-100 inside the docking station. 2.Pack and ship all docking station components to NPS in reusable shipping containers suitable for transport by commercial carrier. 3.Travel to NPS to assist NPS CAVR personnel in assembling, testing, and deploying the docking station in Monterey Bay. This task shall include laboratory checkout prior to deployment, in-water checkout, docking demonstrations with an NPS REMUS-100 vehicle, and operator training. 4.Provide remote technical/engineering support as necessary. The design and manufacturing of the REMUS-100 Docking Station was completed under ONR grant N0014-02-C-0278. The above tasks are associated with taking the GFE commodity and validate the configuration for the use in the research of the Center for Autonomous Vehicle Research Center at the Naval Postgraduate School This acquisition is being procured on a sole source basis under the statutory authority 10 U.S.C. 2304(c)(1), as implemented by Federal Acquisition Regulation, Part 6.302-3, "Industrial mobilization; engineering, development, or research capability; or expert services. ť THIS NOTICE OF INTENT IS NOT A REQUEST FOR COMPETITIVE PROPOSALS. However, responsible interested parties may submit a proposal in which they identify their interest and capability to respond to this requirement. The Government will consider all information received by May 3, 2012, 1200 PST. A determination by the Government not to compete this procurement based upon responses to this notice is solely within the discretion of the Government. The Government will not pay for any information received. Only responses via e mail will be accepted. No telephone responses will be accepted. The North American Industry Classification System (NAICS) code for this effort is 541712.
