Description
This is a combined synopsis/solicitation for commercial items prepared in accordance with the format in Subpart 12.6, as supplemented with additional information included in this notice. This announcement constitutes the only solicitation; proposals are being requested and a written solicitation will not be issued. Quotes are being requested via this synopsis and a written solicitation will not be issued. Requisition Number W81EWF20303697 is being issued as a request for quotes (RFQ) with intent to award as a simplified acquisition. The solicitation document and incorporated provision and clauses are those in effect through Federal Acquisition Circular 2005-54. The US Army Corps of Engineers (USACE), Engineer Research and Development Center (ERDC) Vicksburg, MS, Geotechnical and Structures Laboratory, has a requirement for: BACKGROUND: The Airfields and Pavements Branch (APB) was tasked by the Air Force Civil Engineer Support Agency (AFCESA) to develop an in-place asphalt recycling technology for small repairs on damaged asphalt airfield pavements. A series of pavement repairs were conducted at the Vicksburg Airport to evaluate different combinations of infrared asphalt heaters and rejuvenator products to determine the best alternative for in-place asphalt recycling. The repairs were trafficked using a load cart to simulate F-15 aircraft traffic loading until failure was attained. As a result of these operations, the apron area was damaged and its condition is not suitable for further airport operations. Also, the apron area is being considered as a future test site. Therefore, pavement rehabilitation in the apron area is required. REQUIREMENTS: See attached Statement of Work. See attached Quality Assurance Surveillance Plan.
