Description
The contractor shall provide the necessary labor, personnel, materials, equipment, etc., to operate and maintain NOAA's National Marine Fisheries Service Newport Field Station in Newport, Oregon. The facility consists of primarily of three (3) office/laboratory buildings with a combined area approaching 74,000 square feet, plus two (2) additional support structures. The Contractor shall provide services in support of, but not necessarily limited to the following: 24/7 operations and maintenance coverage, building and equipment maintenance, scientific equipment maintenance, operation and maintenance of the seawater distribution system ensuring a constant source of clear seawater, maintain and operate the utility systems, including freshwater, seawater, and glycol processing systems (i.e., sand and carbon filters, heat exchangers, etc., dock area and security/safety inspections. Oregon State University (OSU) operates essential components of the seawater system at Hatfield Marine Science Center's (HMSC) as well as the dock and pump house which intakes seawater from Yaquina Bay and supplies OSU seawater pumps and control systems on the dock, thereby creating a cooperative relationship with OSU maintenance/operation staff. The facility consists of a water treatment building for both fresh water and seawater and oil-less compressed air equipment. Maintenance and operation of several greenhouses, seawater laboratories, and seawater aquaria will also be required. Any resulting contract will be awarded as a firm-fixed price. The period of performance is for one (1) base year with four (4) additional one-year option(s). The Government anticipates a site visit on/about May 7, 2012 from 8 am to 5 pm at OSU, 2032 S.E.
