- The U.S. Department of Energy, Office of Energy Efficiency and Renewable Energy, Building Technologies Program plans to contract with American Council for an Energy Efficient Economy (ACEEE) for the co-sponsorship of the 2012 American Council for Energy-Efficient Economy (ACEEE) Summer Study in Pacific Grove, California. The Government intends to award a sole source firm fixed price contract to American Council for an Energy Efficient Economy (ACEEE). The period of performance for this award will be from August 12, 2012 through August 12, 2012. The 2012 ACEEE Summer Study is the 17th biennial ACEEE Summer Study Conference on Energy Efficiency in Buildings. ACEEE was founded in 1980 by leading researchers in the energy field. Projects are carried out by ACEEE staff and collaborators from government, the private sector, research institutions, and other nonprofit organizations. ACEEE?s program areas include: Energy Policy, Research (including programs on Buildings and Equipment, Utilities, Industry and Agriculture, Transportation, Economic and Social Analysis and International); and Communications. In nearly 30 years, they have accomplished a great deal. This record of accomplishment has help establish ACEEE as America?s leading center of expertise on energy efficiency with a reputation for quality, credibility, the applicability of our work, and our bipartisan approach. ACEEE?s technical work is widely relied upon by policymakers, business and industry decision-makers, consumers, and media, and other energy pro fessionals. The Department of Energy plays a key role in educating the Nations citizens regarding the energy efficiency hence the 2012 ACEEE Summer Study commands DOE?s presence as no other conference offers the unique opportunity to provide such a diverse group of energy professionals exposure to the core technologies that are the backbone of the Building Technologies Program. Conference panels will likely discuss Residential land Commercial Building, Utilities, Market Transformation, Human & Social Dimensions of Energy Use, Energy Efficiency and Climate Change, Strategies, Workforce Training and Sustainable Communities. In accordance with Competition in Contracting Act, 41 USC 253 [c] [1], as implemented by FAR 6.302-1, other than full and open competition is authorized when there is only one responsible source and no other supplies and services will satisfy agency requirements. Interested parties may submit capability statement and rationale by April 13, 2012 at 11:00AM Eastern via e-mail to annette.brown@hq.doe.gov. The written response must include a general statement for services mentioned in this announcement and past performance client information for similar work. A determination by the Government to compete this proposed contract based upon responses to this notice is solely within the discretion of the Government. Information received will normally be considered solely for the purpose of determining whether to conduct a competitive requirement. This is a notice of intent and no solicitation is available for this requirement.
