- Description
- This is a NAVSUP WSS synopsis for the two year extension (from 1 April 2012 to 1 April 2014) of Basic Ordering Agreement (BOA) N00383-09-G-004H for the repair of various components used as part of the Joint Helmet Mounted Cueing System (JHMCS) used on the F18. Vision Systems International (VSI) CAGE code 06VL3, San Jose, CA, is the only know source to possess full repair capability. The following are the top high dollar value items for repair: Power supply 01-460-8882, Helmet Display Unit 01-469-6497, Single Processor 01-564-8181, 01-563-4028, Cable Assembly 01-495-1189, 01-495-1190, Cable Assembly 01-495-1191, HMDTS 01-494-6768. The subject items require Government source approval prior to contract award, as the items are flight critical and/or the technical data available has not been determined adequate to support repair via full and open competition. Only the source previously approved by the Government for repair of these items will be solicited. The time required for approval of a new source is normally such that an award cannot be delayed pending approval of a new source. If you are not an approved source you must submit, together with your proposal, the information detailed in the NAVSUP Source Approval Information Brochure for Repair. This brochure identifies technical data required to be submitted based on your company's experience in repair of the same or similar items. This brochure can be obtained by calling the NAVSUP WSS PCO. If your request for source approval is currently being evaluated at NAVSUP, submit with your offer a copy of the cover letter that forwarded your request for source approval. Please note, if evaluation of a source approval request submitted hereunder cannot be processed in time and/or approval requirements preclude the ability to obtain subject items in time to meet Government requirements, award of the subject requirement may continue based on Fleet support needs.
