Description
THIS NOTICE CONSTITUTES AMENDMENT NO. 1 TO THE COMBINED SYNOPSIS/RFQ FORNONDESTRUCTIVE EVALUATION LABORATORY COMPUTER TOMOGRAPHY DIGITAL RADIOGRAPHY SYSTEMUPGRADE. Companies shall acknowledge all amendment(s) in their quote. This notice servesas the official amendment to subject synopsis/RFQ and a written amendment will not beissued.The purpose of this amendment is to answer the following questions:Q1. The summary of software under section 4.2 Software (page 6) requests CT/DR viewingsoftware licenses for 5 users.Section 11 Deliverables only requests 1 CT/DR viewersoftware license. Which is the requested number?A1. NASA is requesting a quantity of 1 CT/DR viewer software license.Q2. VERY IMPORTANTLY The PerkinElmer detector panel being supplied by NASA is mostlikely not shielded for radiation dosage (it was bought directly from the supplier) especially up to 450 kV. The detector panel would not function if it is not shielded.Would you like for us to include shielding the detector panel up to 450 kV?A2. Paragraph 4.1.1 states The detector mount shall incorporate fixed radiationshielding for the detector panel electronics as specified in the detector referencemanual (XRD 1621 AN/CN). The contractor shall also provide a removable radiation shieldfor the 40.96 cm x 40.96 cm active detector area. At a minimum, the radiation shieldingshall be designed for direct exposure to 450 kV radiation from a 3 mA X-ray source with a1 mm focal spot at a distance of 12 inches from the detector panel.The due date for receipt of offers is not extended. Companies shall provide the information stated in the synopsis/RFQ posted on the NASAAcquisition Internet Service (NAIS) on March 28, 2012. Documents related to thisprocurement are available over the Internet. These documents reside on a World Wide Web(WWW) server which may be accessed using a WWW browser application.
