THIS IS A RE-POSTING OF THE PRE-SOLICITATION NOTICE ORIGINALLY POSTED ON JANUARY 24, 2012 UNDER SOLICITATION NUMBER VA263-12-B-0192. INTERESTED PARTIES SHALL NOTE THAT THE SOLICITATION NUMBER FOR THIS REQUIREMENT IS NOW: VA263-12-B-0320. THIS IS A TOTAL 100% SERVICE DISABLED VETERAN OWNED SMALL BUSINESS (SDVOSB) SET-ASIDE. The United States Department of Veterans Affairs Network 23 Contracting Office (NCO 23), 708 South Third Street, Suite 200E, Minneapolis, MN, 55415, on behalf of the Iowa City VA Health Care System anticipates issuing an Invitation for Bid (IFB) to award a single, firm fixed-price contract to provide all tools, materials, equipment and labor necessary for completion of general construction project 636A8-12-001, titled "Renovate Inpatient Wards 5E and 4E" at the Iowa City VA Health Care System, 601 Hwy. 6 West, Iowa City, Iowa, 52246. This project will renovate approximately 15,500 sq. ft. of space at the Iowa City VA Health Care System. Included is approximately 9,250 sq. ft. within Ward 5E to be renovated for Inpatient Care including: 15 private patient rooms with 15 private ADA bathrooms and all associated patient/ nursing space; and approximately 6,250 sq. ft. in Ward 4E to be renovated for Ambulatory Surgery patient prep including 17 rooms and 2 ADA toilet rooms and associated patient/nursing space. Any contract issued as a result of this solicitation is planned to include: demolition, asbestos abatement, and alterations to walls, ceilings, roofs and floors, general construction, mechanical, electrical and plumbing work, controls, telecom, nurse call, modular furnishings and certain other items. Work will require at least 2 phases to complete, based on the planned approach. Details will be confirmed in the solicitation, including specifications and drawings. Offerors must be registered in the CCR database (http://www.ccr.gov) and complete online Representations and Certifications at orca.bpn.gov and also registered within the Vets 100 Database at vets.dol.gov/vets100/. Amendments to the solicitation will be posted atwww.fedbizopps.gov. All parties must obtain amendments to the solicitation through this web site. Hard copies will not be mailed. Interested parties must go to the website to obtain copies of the Interested Vendors List. Interested parties shall send all questions and noted ambiguities in writing via email to: michael.reed1@va.gov. Issue Date of the IFB is tentatively scheduled for April 9, 2012 (shorter than 15 days due to fact that the original pre-solicitation notice was posted on January 24, 2012). The Pre-bid meeting and site visit is tentatively planned for April 20, 2012 and will be confirmed within the IFB. Bid Opening is tentatively scheduled for May 11, 2012, at 2:00 P.M. (local time), in Bldg. #21, Room #1B03f at the Iowa City VAMC, Iowa City, IA, but exact date may vary depending on issuance of the solicitation. The applicable NAICS Code is 236220, with corresponding size standard $33.5 million. Cost range is between $2,000,000.00 and $5,000,000.00.
