Description
This document is to assist you in preparing your response to the questions in the synposis. This is a sources sought synposis. This is NOT a request for proposals or quotes and in no way obligates the Government to award any contract. The U.S. Department of Agriculture, Food Safety and Inspection Service (FSIS) is conducting market research to seek sources able to provide Aprons for use in Meat and Poultry slaughter facilities. At a minimum the apron shall be 35 inches x 55 inches, thickness shall be 6 mil or greater, 3 laces (laces must be included with each apron), apron material must be able to repel water, blood and animal fat. FSIS's estimated usage of these aprons is 1,500 per month. The Government does not intend to pay for information furnished as part of this synopsis. Responses to this notice are to include company name, address, telephone number, e-mail address, and point of contact. Responses are also to include the approximate lead-time for delivery of the item and details regarding the product. Please respond to the following questions: (1) Who is the manufacturer and what is the part number of the apron your company will be supplying? (2) What is the country of manufacture for the apron? (3) What is the unit of issue for your apron (i.e., if you provide aprons by the case, how many aprons are in each case)? (4) What is the current commercial market price and provided quantity price breaks (if available)? (5) Are your aprons made of any recycled materials? If so, please provide additional information regarding the recycled materials. (6) Will the material of the apron withstand repeat use? (7) Will the material of the apron maintain its protective integrity and flexibility when washed? (8) What is the expected shelf life for your aprons? (9) What testing has been completed on your suits to ensure they will protect against water, blood and animal fats? (10) Is your business a large or small business and how many employees? (11) If a small business, which socio-economic certification(s) apply? (12) What NAICS code does your company use for this type of product? (13) Is your product listed on a GSA Schedule? (14) Do you have other government agencies using the product, and if so which Agencies, POCs, and contract numbers? After the review of the responses to this sources sought announcement, and if the USDA, FSIS still plans to proceed with the acquisition, a solicitation announcement will be published. Responses to this sources sought are not automatic responses to any future solicitation announcements. All interested offerors will have to respond to the solicitation in addition to responding to this sources sought synopsis. Responses to this sources sought synopsis are NOT a request to be added to a prospective offerors list or to receive a copy of the solicitation. A copy of this Sources Sought Notice is attached in Microsoft Word to assist you in preparing your response to the quetsions above.
