- Defense Logistics Agency (DLA) has a requirement for name brand Symantec Netbackup Software Maintenance. This is issued as Request for Quotation (RFQ) # SP4707-12-Q-0040. Place of performance is Battle Creek, Michigan. Inspection, acceptance and F.O.B. are at destination, Battle Creek, Michigan. Delivery shall be no later than June 14, 2012. This is a combined synopsis/solicitation for commercial items prepared in accordance with the format in Subpart 12.6, as supplemented with additional information included in this notice. This announcement constitutes the only solicitation; proposals are being requested and a written solicitation will not be issued. This solicitation document and incorporated provisions and clauses are those in effect through Federal Acquisition Circular #2005-576. This acquisition is set-aside 100% for small business concerns, and the associated NAICS code is 541511 with a SBA size standard of $25,000,000 in average annual receipts. Offerors shall provide a price for each contract line item number (CLIN) in their quote. Quotes with quantities of more/ less than requested, or products other than those requested will be rated technically unacceptable and not be considered for award. CLIN Descriptions: CLIN 001: SYMC Netbackup Platform Base 7.1 XPLAT 1 Front End TBYTE Renewal Essential 12 Months GOV Band-S, P/N: 08CMXZZ0-ER1GS, QTY: 27, POP: 14-JUN-2012 to 13-JUN-2013, SYMC Renewal ID: RNW580-872-063. Redacted Justification: DLA Logistics Information Services currently utilizes Netbackup software. Introduction of another manufacturer's software will create a compatibility issue. Procurement of alternative backup software would require procurement of new client software for all servers serviced and an extensive conversion of data to the new software and is not cost effective. This requirement is for brand name software maintenance only. Potential vendors shall be a registered partner and reseller and should be listed in Symantec's partner locator portal. Quotes from outside Symantec's partner and reseller network shall be rated technically unacceptable and not be considered for award. The evaluation factor(s) for award is; lowest-price, technically acceptable. Any resulting contract or order will be firm-fixed price.
