Description
The following will be incorporated into the solicitation thru a national amendment. At this time I do not have a timeframe for this national amendment. Therefore, to not delay the solicitation I am enclosing the changes that are forth coming under this amendment.D.2.1.5 (b) oDelete: Two (2) 20lb. Aqueous Film Forming Foam (AFFF) compatible dry chemical portable fire extinguishers. oReplace with: Two (2) 20lb. dry chemical portable fire extinguishers compatible with Aqueous Film Forming Foam (AFFF). D.2.1.5.5 (e) The specification meets the Governments minimum needs. It is otherwise acceptable for a vendor to provide equipment that exceeds the minimum requirements as long as the equipment meets the minimum requirements stated in the solicitation. D.2.2 If the vendor chooses to haul the equipment to the incident that is acceptable, however no payment over and above the daily rate will be paid. D.2.2.1.1 The vendor is not correct regarding the Water Handling Equipment not being required to carry a spare, this is what is in the Water Handling Solicitation: oD.2.2.1.1 All engines and tactical water tenders shall have a full size spare tire with minimum of 4/32 tread and wheel securely (mounted to the vehicle). The spare tire shall be easily accessible. The vendor will be required to have a full size spare tire for the apparatus. Exhibit N oDelete: (V) Apparatus Specifications. Off-paved road capability: Maximum 170 wheel base. Minimum 16 body ground clearance. oReplace with: (V) Apparatus Specifications: Off-paved road capability: The angle of approach and angle of departure shall be 20 degrees minimum and the ground clearance shall be 15 inches minimum when the apparatus is loaded to the estimated in-service weight. Exhibit N there will be two (2) Backboards required, this complies with the quantities at D.2.1.5.3 (a) and Exhibit M Stand Alone Vehicle The vendor will be required to meet the needs by providing one (1) vehicle with all the equipment called for in the solicitation specifications. However, this does not preclude the vendor from bringing a support vehicle (i.e., to carry the spare tire, etc.), but there will be no payment for the support vehicle. NO CHANGE IN THE CLOSING DATE FOR THE SOLICITATION. IT WILL CLOSE ON MARCH 30, 2012 (4PM, PST)
