- Description
- The US Army Contracting Command - Aberdeen Proving Ground, Natick Contracting Division has a requirement for the purchase of a commercial Multi-Tool. This acquisition is full and open for small and large businesses to submit proposals. The War fighter has had to fight the Global War on Terrorism in multiple theaters of operation in extreme conditions. The War fighter's mission may vary from conducting convoy operations to urban combat or dismounted operations in harsh mountainous terrain. To ensure continued success, the War fighter has had to overcome these varying battlefield conditions and environments which require not only adaptive Soldiers, but durable, effective and sustainable clothing and individual equipment. The environmental conditions under which the multi-tool and carrying case will be used will range from tropic to arctic and from arid desert to open ocean and may include all weather conditions in these environments. The multi-tool and carrying case shall be: durable, effective, sustainable and lightweight. The Government is anticipating awarding multiple 3 year IDIQ contract(s) with an overall minimum of 10,000 Multi-Tool(s) w/Carrying Case per contract, and a maximum dollar value of $26,500,000.00 combined from all contract actions. The North American Industry Classification System (NAICS) code is 332212, and the size standard is 500 employees. This acquisition is subject to the Berry Amendment, 10 USC 2533a, and Defense Federal Acquisition Regulation Supplement (DFARS) Clause 252.225-7012 Preference for Certain Domestic Commodities (Section I). The Prime Contractor and the entire supply chain are required to adhere to the Berry Amendment. Berry Amendment, DFARS 252.225-7012, applies to the resultant contract. The Request for Proposal will be posted on the Army Single Face to Industry website; https://acquisition.army.mil/asfi/, on or about 2 April 2012.
