Description
This is a SOURCES SOUGHT Notice for market research purposes only. The U.S. Army Corps of Engineers - St. Paul District is seeking all interested Service-Disabled Veteran-Owned small business sources capable of constructing a rock bench to stabilize an existing bank to support a historic burial site located in Muscoda, WI. Background/Description: The Ho-Chunk Nation Bison Farm is near Muscoda, Wisconsin, on the north bank of the Lower Wisconsin River in Richland County, Wisconsin. It is approximately 50 miles west/northwest of Madison, Wisconsin. Bank erosion is threatening several burial mounds situated on a high linear terrace along the north bank of the Wisconsin River. Seventeen burial mounds remain on the terrace, originally part of the largest mound group in Wisconsin (Eagle Township Mound Group/Archaeological Site 47R138, which is listed on the National Register of Historic Places (NRHP) and is a cataloged burial site and protected by Wisconsin Statutes 157.70.). The project will involve constructing a rock bench, consisting of rockfill, at elevation 671 along approximately 750 feet of shoreline and into the water. The rock bench will be approximately 10 feet wide with 1V:1.5H side slopes. Because of the uneven shoreline, some areas will require placing the rock farther away from the bank. This rockfill will stabilize the existing bank that supports the burial mounds. The work is expected to start September 2012 and be completed July 2013. The appropriate NAICS code for this procurement is 237990 with a small business size standard of $33.5 million. There has been no determination by the Government with regard to the method of procurement for this requirement. Service-Disabled Veteran-Owned (SDVO) Small Business Set-Aside Determination: The St. Paul District Corps of Engineers reserves the right to determine if a SDVO small business set-aside is appropriate based on responses to this notice and other pertinent information gathered by the contracting officer. All interested Service-Disabled Veteran-Owned small business concerns are encouraged to submit a brief capabilities statement package, no more than 5 pages in length, addressing the following: 1. Business name, address, and point of contact 2. DUNS number and CAGE code 3. Statement of capability which demonstrates the firm's ability to successfully perform the construction work, including examples of similar projects completed Responses are due by 2:00 p.m. (CST) on Friday, 30 March 2012. Please submit your response to Lisa Draves, Contract Specialist, by email (preferred) to: lisa.a.draves@usace.army.mil.
