- The Federal Bureau of Prisons, Field Acquisition Office, Grand Prairie, Texas, anticipates issuance of solicitation IFBP02061200004 for the award of (1) Optometrist for the Federal Correctional Institution, located in Fort Dix, New Jersey. The contract type is an indefinite delivery/requirements contract with firm-fixed unit prices. The contractor shall provide one Optometrist for the inmate population in a correctional setting for the Health Services Department at FCI Fort Dix. The contract period will consist of a base period from date of award through 12 months, and four one-year option periods for renewal at the unilateral discretion of the government. The estimated quantities for the base year and each option year are 728 sessions. A session is defined as one hour. The contractor will conduct services an average of 14 hour per week. Additional sessions may be requested on an as needed basis. The Contractor will normally work, Monday through Friday (except federal holidays), between the hours of 7:30 a.m. and 4:00 p.m., include a 30-minute unpaid lunch break. The contractor's applicants must be a graduate of an accredited university, with a degree in Optometry. Must be eligible for Board Certification and must have a license to practice in the state of New Jersey. The contractor must provide proof of current skills as an Optometrist. The Contractor will provide Optometrist services in accordance with Bureau of Prison policy. Bidders are requested to submit photocopies of their resume, license and/or board certification, and sign a consent for release of Information for verification of credentials along with their quote price per session. The solicitation will be made available on or about March 23, 2012, and will be distributed solely through the General Services Administration Federal Business Opportunities website at www.fedbizopps.gov. Hard copies of the solicitation will not be available. The website provides download instructions. All future information concerning this solicitation, including amendments, will be distributed solely through this website. Interested parties are responsible for monitoring this site to ensure that they have the most up-to-date information about this acquisition. The North American Industrial Classification (NAICS) code is 621320, with a small business size standard of $7.0 million. All contractors doing business with the Federal Government must be registered in the Central Contractor Registration (CCR) database. The website for registration is www.ccr.gov. The date for receipt of bids is on April 23, 2012; however, this is a projected estimate and bidders should refer to Page 1 of the solicitation (Block #8) for the actual date bids are due. Faith-Based and Community-Based Organizations can submit bids equally with other organizations for contracts for which they are eligible. This solicitation is a total small business set-aside. All responsible small business concerns are encouraged to submit a bid which may be considered.
