Description

Description: The U.S. Department of Veterans Affairs, Network Contracting Office 10, 1650 Oak Tree Blvd, Independence, OH 44131 anticipates soliciting sources and subsequently awarding a contract for the construction project 541-11-108 known as "Chiller Plant Generator and Distribution Upgrades." The contractor shall furnish all labor, materials, supplies, and travel, to perform work under this project. The work will include but not be limited to general construction, alterations, mechanical, plumbing, fire protection, electrical work, utility systems, asbestos abatement, necessary removal of existing structures, and certain other items. The location of the work will be at the Louis Stokes VA Medical Center, 10701 East Boulevard, Cleveland, Ohio, 44106. The period of performance shall be 260 days from Notice to Proceed. A pre-bid conference will be scheduled approximately one week after the solicitation is posted. The time and place will be stated in the solicitation. All prospective contractors, subcontractors and suppliers are urged to attend. This will be the only site visit scheduled for this project. Individual requests to view the site will not be granted. The solicitation will be issued as an "Invitation for Bid" conducted in accordance with FAR Parts 14, 19, and 36 and be evaluated in accordance with the procedures therein. This Notice is for informational purposes only. This opportunity will be available only to contractors under the Set-Aside program. The solicitation will be a 100% set-aside for SERVICE DISABLED VETERAN OWNED SMALL BUSINESS in accordance with 38 U.S.C. § 8127, for the Department of Veterans Affairs, "Service-disabled veteran-owned small business concern". The solicitation will be issued on or about Monday, April 16, 2012, as an invitation for bid and bids will be due 30 days later as will be described in the solicitation. The Government intends to award a firm-fixed-price contract. The solicitation, when issued on www.fbo.gov will include specifications and drawings. This notice is not a request for competitive offers and the determination by the Government not to compete the proposed procurement is solely within the discretion of the Government.
