Description
The United States (US) Army has an increasing requirement to provide Force Protection (FP) services at temporary and permanent Continental United States (CONUS) and Outside Continental United States (OCONUS) installations. Additionally, as the Department of Defense (DOD) draws down forces in support of Operations New Dawn and Enduring Freedom in Iraq and Afghanistan, services will be required for fielded FP systems including associated Commercial-off-the-Shelf (COTS) and Non-Developmental Items (NDI). The Product Manager, Force Protection Systems (PdM-FPS) mission includes providing timely, affordable, modular, scalable, supportable and integratable physical security and FP capabilities to tactical forces, military installations and Other Governmental Agencies (OGA). The PdM-FPS mission includes the requirement to install, operate, de-install/re-install, reconfigure refurbish, retrofit, retrograde, integrate and modify FP systems, equipment and components when and where needed. Integral to the success of this mission is the ability to compete requirements among qualified contractors in an efficient and timely manner. PdM-FPS will support the growing demand and complexity of the FP/Physical Security Equipment (PSE) requirements by awarding multiple contracts under this Request for Proposal (RFP). The objective is to establish long-term, competitively awarded, contracts with continued competition at the Task Order (TO) level. Each contractor will have a fair opportunity to be considered for all subsequent TO level requirements within the scope of this contract, supporting the range and depth of the required capabilities. This contract will provide affordable access to FP/PSE services over the Period of Performance (POP).
