- The U.S. Broadcasting Board of Governors, (BBG), International Broadcasting Bureau (IBB), pursuant to Federal Acquisition Regulation (FAR) Subpart 12.67 intends to issue a Sole Source Combined Synopsis/Solicitation for Software Maintenance Support for Chyron's hperX's ;EX's, mricoX's Luyric, Camio, Cluster Channel Box, XClyps, MicroClyps, CAMIO SCU, OMS, EAS-HD, WAPSTR, Lyric plug-in for Avid commercial items in accordance with format of Subpart 12.6 as supplemented with additional information in this notice. This announcement constitutes the only solicitation; proposals are being requested and a written solicitation will not be issued. The authority for negotiating on a sole-source basis with Chyron Corporation is made under authority of 41 U.S. C. 253(c)(1) and Federal Acquisition Regulation 6.302-1, which provides for limiting competition from only one responsible source and no other supplies or services will satisfy the agency requirements. The North American Industry Classification System (NAICS) Code is 334220. This Solicitation Number BBG50-R-12-0562 is issued as a request for proposal (RFP) that will result in a single award of an Firm Fixed Price Contract. using FAR Part 15 (Contract by Negotiation) procedures to provide Annual Software Maintenance. The government reserves the right to make an award on the initial proposal without discussions of this procurement. This requirement shall cover Base Year and Four Option Years based on the availability of funds, each option year shall be priced. Chyron Corporation will maintain the existing Software Maintenance to meet the following minimum criteria: 1. Broadcasting Board of Governors Cohen Building, Switzer Building Washington, DC Full Service Maintenance Plan What is covered: The SMA provides the latest software update for a single covered system Chyron application software, excluding any third party hardware or software. How are updates requested: Software updates are available for download from the Chyron website ( www.chyron.com )> A registered login and password are required to access this area of the website. Once you have registered you will receive a password within 1 to 2 business days. The software downloads are located in the Support section of the website. You must be logged into the site to the follow this link. http:www.chyron.com/support/downloads.aspx. •· Please contact Product Chyron's Support Melville (USA) at +1(631) 845-2132 or +1888-4-Chyron, Chyron EMEA (UK) at +44(0) 208-996-9930, if assistance is needed. The serial number of the unit and/or the SMA contract number will be required. An official copy of the software is available upon request only. Is documentation provided: Documentation is provided in the form of a release note which is available for download from the Chyron website ( www.chyron.com ). Will updated software work with system: Software updates are targeted for customers operating current hardware configurations. Customers with older systems may not be able to use any or all of the latest software functionality without hardware upgrades that are sole separately. What other benefits are provided: SMA's include technical telephone support. Chryon's Product Support Engineers are available for technical support during the hours of 8:00 am - 8:00pm EST as well as for emergency telephone support 24 hours a day 7 days a week.
