- 1.0 SUBJECT: This is an announcement of a Request for Information (RFI). This RFI is issued for the purpose of identifying potential sources capable of supporting the Minuteman III weapon system Fast Rising B-Plug program. This is a market survey. This notice does not constitute a Request for Proposal, nor does it restrict the Government as to the ultimate acquisition approach, nor should it be construed as a commitment by the Government. The Government will not reimburse any costs for providing any information, documentation, and/or data submitted or preparation costs for submittals in response to this RFI. In addition, the Government will not pay for any costs associated with participation in demonstrations. Initial responses are due to this RFI 03/23/2012. This Notice shall remain open and responses accepted until 04/16/2012. 2.0 BACKGROUND INFORMATION: The Minuteman II Fast Rising B-Plug system significantly increases the closure speed of the existing B-Plug, which is used to delay access to the personnel entry system at the Launch Facility (LF). The new B-Plug equipment replaces the existing Electromechanical Linear Actuator (EMLA) installed in MMIII LFs and includes a modification to automate the existing B-Plug Lock Bolt mechanism to secure in a closed configuration. This contract is for the evaluation and repair of Fast Rising B-Plug system components including the following: NSN NAME Part Number 6130-01-545-6994 ESS BA22875 6130-01-561-6085 ESS BA23097 1440-01-587-3595 New EMA BA23461 1440-01-538-0119 Old EMA BA22800 6105-01-575-8722 EMA Motor BA23009 1440-01-563-9175 Actuator Locking Bar BA22888A 1440-01-538-0122 Linear Actuator BA22766 6110-01-543-2621 Motor Drive Unit BA178F4150 3.0 Requirements: To be considered as a potential repair source for this requirement, a Contractor will be required to submit technical data verifying their capabilities to perform. The Contractor will be required to verify to the Government that the contractor is able to comply with all of the specifications. 4.0 SAMPLE RESPONSE OUTLINE: Following is a suggested outline for a response to this RFI. This outline is intended to minimize the effort of the respondent and structure the responses for ease of analysis by the Government. Nevertheless, respondents are free to develop their response as they see fit. 4.1 Briefly describe the company, products & services, history, ownership, financial information, and other information deemed relevant. 4.2 Please describe any projects that the company has been involved in that are similar and/ or relevant in concept to what is described in this RFI. 5.0 Disclaimer This RFI is issued for information and planning purposes only and does not constitute a solicitation. All information received in response to this RFI will not be returned. In accordance with FAR 15.201(e), a response to this notice is not an offer and cannot be accepted by the Government to form a binding contract. Responders shall be solely responsible for all expenses associated with responding to this RFI. Initial responses are due to this RFI by 23 March, 2012. This notice shall remain open and responses accepted until 16 April 2012.
