Description

NAVFAC EURAFSWA in Naples, Italy is preparing to execute an anticipated work load of approximately six hundred million dollars ($600,000.000) subject to funds availability in Design and Construction at Camp Lemonier, Djibouti Africa in Fiscal Year 2012 and Fiscal Year 2013. The execution methodology for these projects will be a combination of Design Bid Build and Design Build using a variety of Naval Facilities Engineering Command acquisition methods including: Best Value Source Selection (BVSS), Low Price Technically Acceptable (LPTA), Multiple Award Construction Contracting (MACC) and Global Contingency Contracting (GCC) process. The design and construction of these facilities will be accomplished using innovative strategies aimed at achieving facilities that are cost effective, high performance with low lifecycle costs. Facilities to be constructed will be sustainable incorporating water savings, energy efficiency, and indoor environmental quality. The construction includes both significant horizontal and vertical construction efforts. Vertical construction projects consist of Containerized Living/Working Units (CLU/CWU), Aircraft Maintenance Hangers, Bachelor Quarters/ Barracks, Telecommunication Facilities, Ammunitions Storage Facilities, Administrative/Operations Facilities and miscellaneous ancillary facilities. Horizontal construction projects consist of Aircraft Taxiways, Parking Aprons, and Specialized Aprons. Design and construction will follow DoD Standards, and Unified Facility Criteria (UFC).
