- The US Forest Service contemplates posting the solicitation AG-0116-S-12-0032 Boondocks Pre-commercial Thinning on the Federal Business Opportunity website on. PROJECT DESCRIPTION. The purpose and intent of this contract is to secure services for pre-commercial thinning of approximately 446 acres of conifer reproduction, approximately 20 to 30 years old. The Contractor must furnish all labor, equipment, housing, subsistence, supervision, transportation, operating supplies, and incidentals except those items listed as Government-furnished property. OBTAINING A SOLICITATION. Prospective bidders are expected to obtain the solicitation from the Internet. REGISTRATIONS. In order to receive any contract award, a vendor must be registered in the Central Contractor Registration (CCR) and Online Representations and Certifications Application (ORCA). - Address: The project is located on the Wrangell Ranger District on Shrubby and Bushy Islands, approximately 28 air miles southwest of the town of Wrangell. The islands are located on the southwest side of Zarembo Island in the northern part of Clarence Strait. Both islands have LTF's and anchoring points, though caution should be taken due to rocks and shallow shorelines. The roads on both islands are best suited for ATV use and may require brushing out in some areas., Alaska, United States
