Description
Sources Sought Model-Based Systems Engineering Software Toolset PURPOSE: Sources Sought for Market Research - A solicitation has not been issued for this requirement. NAICS CODE: 511210 SIZE STANDARD: $25M BACKGROUND AND PURPOSE OF REQUIREMENT: The Government has a requirement for a general purpose Model-Based Systems Engineering (MBSE) tool capable of representing and modeling/testing/executing system architectures. The Tool is defined as the MBSE core software plus any add-ons to achieve the Government's requirements. Specific Technical Requirements • The Tool shall be capable of representing architectures in the most recent standard (v. 1.2) of the Systems Modeling Language (SysML) framework. • The Tool shall be capable of interfacing with physics-based models of the system's components in Excel and Matlab/Simulink. The ability to link to additional engineering tools is desirable. • The Tool shall be capable of executing/simulating the system architecture with the external physical models and constraints. • For architecture and physics-based simulation, the Tool shall be capable of providing user interface controls. A highly desirable feature is the ability to prototype the entire user interface in one or more windows or interface with external user interface tools. • The Tool shall make it relatively simple to reuse components (model libraries, toolboxes, etc) developed by the user. • The Tool should support industry standards for interfacing, export, and import to the maximum extent practicable. Examples of standards useful to the Government include, but are not limited to, XMI, SCXML, Java Swing, and Java/Javascript. Administrative Requirements The Government has a requirement for two (2) licenses with software maintenance support for up to one (1) year. A floating license is not desired at this time, but being able to upgrade to a floating license is a desirable feature. The license structure proposed must accommodate both desktop (local) and laptop (remote) use.
