- Description
- Contracting Office Address Department of the Navy, Naval Air Systems Command HQ, 47123 Buse Road, Suite 256, Patuxent River, MD 20670-1547 Naval Air Systems Command is considering the release of a competitive Broad Agency Announcement (BAA) for additional studies within the next 30 days. A request for proposals (RFP) would be posted on the FedBizOpps and vendors interested in submitting a proposal should continue to monitor this website. Description The overall BAA objective is to support program activities, including development of the Concept of Operations (CONOPS), system architectures, system requirements documents, and analysis of potential material solutions to meet a goal for a UCLASS operational capability. The UCLASS system consists of: An Air Segment (including air vehicle, ISR mission systems, and a remote vehicle control system); A Control System and Connectivity Segment (which includes interconnectivity to external DoD and carrier air wing assets, Navy and DoD networks and satellite systems, and existing DoD Tasking, Collection, Processing, Exploitation, and Dissemination (TCPED) systems); A CVN Segment responsible for shipboard interfaces, shipboard facilities, aircraft launch/recovery equipment and operation. In July 2011, the UCLASS program conducted a Materiel Development Decision (MDD) Defense Acquisition Board (DAB) and was authorized to enter Materiel Solutions Analysis (MSA) acquisition phase. The program anticipates leveraging existing, deployed Department of Defense (DoD) systems to launch, recover, and control the air vehicle, transfer data in support of time critical strike operations, and conduct persistence ISR operations. This is not an RFP. This synopsis is not to be construed as a commitment by the U.S. Government, nor will the U.S. Government pay for any information solicited or provided. Point of Contact Technical and contracting questions regarding this announcement should be directed to Ms. Peggy Belcher (AIR-2.4.4.3.4), phone: 301-757-7051; NAVAIRSYSCOM HQ, 47123 Buse Rd Unit IPT, Building 2272 Suite 256, Patuxent River, MD 20670-1547, or via email: paijiun.belcher@navy.mil.
