- THIS NOTICE IS FOR INFORMATIONAL PURPOSES ONLY. The Centers for Disease Control and Prevention (CDC), Office of the Director (OD) National Centers Chronic Disease Prevention and Health Promotion (NCCDPHP) contemplate award of a Firm Fixed Price Sole Source Purchase Order to Agency for Healthcare Research and Quality. The work shall be performed at the Contractor's facility. The Period of Performance shall be for 12 months. The North American Industrial Classification Standards (NAICS) Code is 541712 and Standard Business Size of $7M. The sole source award will be conducted in accordance with FAR Part 13.106-1(b) only one responsible source and no other supplies or services will satisfy agency requirement. This requirement is a continuation of services already provided and is not set aside for small businesses. The Healthcare Cost and Utilization Project is a family of health care databases and related software tools and products developed through a Federal•State•Industry partnership and sponsored by the Agency for Healthcare Research and Quality (AHRQ). HCUP databases bring together the data collection efforts of State data organizations, hospital associations, private data organizations, and the Federal government to create a national information resource of patient• level health care data (HCUP Partners). There is no comparable product on the market. The purpose of the Purchase Order is to use the HCUP data to monitor, identify, diagnose, investigate and research public health related issues in areas of chronic diseases, asthma, respiratory, reproductive health, environmental health, and bleeding disorders. The output will be papers, presentation, reports and policy briefs. CDC is not requesting competitive proposals and no solicitation is available. Firms that believe they can provide the services required are encouraged to identify themselves and give written notification to the Contracting Officer no later than 2:00 PM Eastern Standard Time, by March 16, 2012. Determination not to compete this proposed action based on responses to this notice is solely within the discretion of the Government. Respondents will assume all financial costs for preparing a response to this notice. The U.S. Government assumes no financial obligation for the preparation and distribution of prepared responses.
