- Amendment W91ZLK-12-R-0009 0002 is issued to provide answers to questions and clarifications. The closing date of the solicitation has been extended to February 29, 2012 at 4:30 PM, Eastern Standard Time. Please submit your proposals to Ms. Susan Sowa at the Army Contracting Command Aberdeen Proving Ground, Installation Contracting Division, 4118 Susquehanna Avenue, Aberdeen Proving Ground, MD 21005-3013. Proposals may be submitted via email to: susan.l.sowa.civ@mail.mil or Fax 410-306-3726. Proposals must be signed, dated, and received by the closing date. Please reference both attachments for this RFQ. Attachment for REVISEDSpecifications and Attachment2 for revised Description of the Requirement CLIN structure. NO TELEPHONE REQUESTS WILL BE HONORED. Question 10: What are the true min. specs you need for this specific application? Answer 10: The minimum requirements are based on require projector peak outputs. We have determined that only those projectors in the 6000 - 8000 lumens range are capable of providing sufficient brightness for our test items and instrumentation requirements. Require the following options: Projection Designs F32 brand name or equal: Color Wheel: Graphics Resolution: WUZGA (1920 X 1200) Lens: Lens numberEN11 / 503-0056-00 Focus range2 - 15 m Throw ratio1.60 - 2.32 : 1 (WUXGA) The Focus range is 2 - 15m, this lens combination works best when we tested it at our facility. The actual distance to the projection screen is 18m (60ft). The color wheel and resolution options that we selected spec out at 4500 lumens, but we would still have the option (if we ever needed too) to switch to a high bright color wheel which specs out at 7500 lumens with our selected resolution and the 8000 lumens projector. If an "or equal projector" is proposed for a different type or brand of projector, the specs based on our "brand name" projector/lens/color-wheel combination would only serve as a rough guide. Color wheels are projector vendor specific and light output varies depending on the technology in the product. So we are specifying a 6,000-8,000 lumens projector. All projectors meeting the attached listed specifications must pass an onsite technical evaluation to confirm static and moving target positioning accuracy, and verify that they are capable of providing sufficient brightness, and contrast to allow existing instrumentation (contrast video trackers) as well as weapon system (test item) auto-trackers to successfully lock on and track targets over various tracking scenarios (with variations in visibility and terrain backgrounds), prior to accepting the projectors as technically acceptable. Question 11: Standard warranty on the F32 WUXGA is only 2 years, are you looking for a 1 year parts and labor, that should be added as a CLIN? Answer 11: Change warranty requirement to read 2 year manufacture warranty instead of 3 year manufacture warranty. Question 12: In the specification sheet attached you are requesting 6000-8000 Lumens, while in the attachment 2 file you are requesting 4500 Lumens. Answer 12: Please reference Question 10 and Answer 10. Question 13: The request for 7500:1 contract ratio limits the option and kind of directs the bid to a certain brand name. Answer 13: This requirement is based on the peak output value for the projector. Any projector with equal or better peak values would qualify for an onsite evaluation.. Question 14: Also please note "color management" feature is only supplied by one company called Projector Design and is not available from other suppliers. Answer 14: This requirement is not included in the minimum projector requirements. This service/feature was requested based on the manufacturer's recommendations for the F32 projector - it is not a requirement for any other projector model or brand.
