- The Bureau of Reclamation Columbia-Cascades Area Office (Reclamation) intends to negotiate a contract using FAR Parts 12 and 13 procedures with K & N Electric Motors Inc, 415 N Fancher Rd, Spokane Valley WA 99212-1059, for repair of the number 2 KATO 2,500 horsepower motor from the Columbia River Pumping Plant near Hermiston, Umatilla County, Oregon. The proposed contract is a follow on to a previously competitively awarded contract. Approximately 6 months ago the pump and motor failed and was taken bacj to K & N for warranty type work. The proposed scope of work includes:Remove and replace fan support ringsRe-insulate fan support studsClean all rotor pole connections to bare metalRemove loose barsReinstall barsSwedge bars as needed to tighten in slotsWeld all pole bar connectionsPrep rotor components for reassemblyTreat RotorBalance rotorInstall venting on lower bearing capConduct final rotor testingThis notice is not a request for proposals, and no solicitation will be issued. However, interested parties may identify their capability to respond to the requirement or submit proposals to Connie Morgan via email at cmorgan@usbr.gov or via phone at 509-575-5848 x24. All proposals received by March 3, 2012, will be considered by Reclamation. Information received will be considered only for the purpose of determining whether to conduct a competitive procurement.
