- Description
- This requirement is for a firm-fixed price contract for two (2) each NSN 1730-01-363-3778QS, Part Number 912E0001-100, Gun Feeding Unit 23 (GFU-23) used to support the AC-130 Gun Ship's 25mm GAU-12/U Gatling Gun System and for one (1) each NSN 1730-01-363-3779, Part Number 912G0001-100, Gun Feeding Unit 22 (GFU-22) also used to support the AC-130 Gun Ship's 25mm GAU-12/U Gatling Gun System. The GFU-23 ammunition loading system is used to load up to 1,000 rounds of Ammunition in to the AC130 Gunship's 25mm GAU-12 Gatling gun. It can simultaneously load fresh ammo while downloading brass casing or unfired rounds. Operating power is provided by an electrical connection to the AC130 Gunship or munitions facility's power. The loader precisely times the interfaces between the ammo storage container, the AC-130 Gunship and the auxiliary drive systems to rapidly transfer bullets at up to 400 rounds per minute. It extracts rounds from the container strips the packing material and aligns the rounds then inserts them into conveyor elements which is then synchronized and loaded into the aircraft. The dimensions (maximum) are 107" L X 30"W X 42"H, weight: 460+ lbs. The purpose of the GFU-22 25mm Processor is to provide ammunition inspection capability for the bullets used in the AC-l30, GAU-12/U gun system. The processor interfaces directly with the 25mm shipping and storage container. The system is driven via the maintenance facility power system and electrically controlled by the inspection crew. Timing and synchronization of all components in the processor are critical to the movement of rounds between systems. The processor uses a conveyer mechanism consisting of a series of molded plastic tubes linked together with knitted fiber tie straps. The processor provides 25mm ammunition for the GAU-12/U gun system. The dimensions (maximum) are 107" L X 32.5" W X 52" H, weight: 754 lbs. DELIVERY: Due 12 months ARO contract award, delivery to FE4417. All assets will be shipped FOB Origin. The contract period is for the basic year. The approximate RFP issue date will be 9 March 2012.
