Description
Request for Information: VA Southern Nevada Healthcare System (VASNHS) is implementing a model of patient-centered care. At the core of patient-centered care is an entirely new approach to healthcare that shifts the current system, which is problem-based disease care, to one that is patient-centered health and healing. It requires a process that is proactive rather than reactive, and engages the patient at the center of their care. There are three key components to this approach to healthcare: personalized health planning; whole person, integrative strategies; and behavior change and skill building that works. This is accomplished by aligning and integrating ongoing initiatives, and building new skills and capacities within our existing work force. VASNHS is seeking to implement a program that that provides various alternatives to patient-centered health and healing, such as, but is not limited to: acupuncture, chiropractic, tai chi, reiki, massage, other complementary therapies, etc. Any interested organization should submit a written capability statement to include its experience in developing and implementing a whole-person wellness program, an overview of the program, and any additional information on related services your organization may offer. Please do not submit any proprietary information in your capability statement. Capability statements shall not exceed 10 pages readable in Microsoft Word 2007 and must be submitted via e-mail to Tamara Feist-Hatfield, Contract Specialist, tamara.feist-hatfield@va.gov no later than Friday, March 2 2012. Only e-mail electronic submissions will be accepted. Responses to this RFI will be treated as information only and will be considered as part of the Government's market research efforts. THERE IS NO SOLICITATION AT THIS TIME. This request for capability information does not constitute a request for proposals; submission of any information in response to this market survey is purely voluntary; the Government assumes no financial responsibility for any costs incurred.
