Description
Title:Photocoagulation Laser System for the Southern Arizona VA Health Care System in Tucson, AZ Scope:SAVAHCS requires a Photocoagulator System for the eye clinic. The Photocoagulation Laser required shall be a fully integrated, semi-automated, pattern scan laser system designed to treat retinal disease using a single spot or predetermined pattern array of up to 56 spots employing short 532nm laser pulses. The Proposed Sole Source: Pascal, is equipment proposed for purchase. The Pascal method of photocoagulation allows delivery of up to nine predetermined patterns, with adjustable spot spacing, by scanning the replacement of the laser spots and controlling the emission of the laser pulse. Pascal is intended for use in the treatment of ocular pathology. It is indicated for both posterior and anterior segment including, but not limited to, pan-retinal, focal and macular grid photocoagulation. The Pascal method can also be used for the treatment of vascular and structural abnormalities of the retina and choroid including: proliferative and non-proliferative diabetic retinopathy, chorodial neovacularization, branch and central vein occlusion, age-related macular degeneration, lattice degeneration, and retinal tears and detachments. It can also perform iridotomy, iridectomy, and trabeculectomy in angle closure and open angle glaucoma. This machine is also used to scan the retina which provides a high resolution image that is necessary for monitoring diseases such as macular degeneration and diabetic retinopathy and aids in determining if treatment is indicated *This is not a solicitation for quotes. The purpose of this Pre-Solicitation Notice / Sources Sought is only to announce and seek further competition for the planned solicitation. The Justification for Other Than Full and Open Competition will be posted on the Federal Business Opportunities (FBO) website if no other products can be found that meet the Government's requirements. If an equal product can be offered, please submit detailed information, including equipment specifications, to the contact information provided on the previous page no later than February 29, 2012.*
