Description

Standpipe /PIV Replacement, Project 529-10-101-Contractor shall completely prepare site for building operations, including demolition and removal of existing structures, and furnish labor and materials and perform work for "Standpipe/PIV Replacement" as required by drawings and specifications. Statement of Bid item(s) A.ITEM I, GENERAL CONSTRUCTION - Work includes site property and sub basement general construction, alterations, grading, mechanical and electrical work, utility systems and certain other items for: 1)Removal and replacement of Post Indicating Valves (PIVs), per construction documents, at Bldg #1 front, Bldg #1 Rear, Bldg #2 Front, Bldg #3, Bldg #6, Bldg # 7, Bldg #8, Bldg #9, Bldg #46, and Bldg #47. New PIV's shall be integrated into the existing Fire Alarm System monitoring panel. 2)Remove and replace the standpipe valves in Bldg #1, Bldg #2, and Bldg #3. Modify the existing Building #1 distribution system with new isolation valves to facilitate modifications of the existing system without shutting down the entire system. The duration for this project will be 120 Calendar Days. B. Item II, GENERAL CONSTRUCTION - Work includes all elements listed in Item I, except deduct all work associated with Building 1. The duration for this project will be 90 Calendar Days. C. Item III, GENERAL CONSTRUCTION - Work includes all elements listed in Item I, except deduct all work associated with Building 3. The duration for this project will be 120 Calendar Days. D. Item IV, GENERAL CONSTRUCTION - Work includes all elements listed in Item I, except deduct all work associated with Buildings 1 & 3. All contractors must be registered in vetbiz at http://www.vetbiz.gov. Amendments to the solicitation will be posted at this website only. All respondents must obtain amendments at this website, hard copies will not be mailed. All questions must be submitted in writing by mail or fax (724-477-5026) to the issuing office in sufficient time prior to bid opening. NAICS Code is 238220, and is applicable to this acquisition with a Business Size Standard of $14 million. Magnitude of Construction is between $250,000.00 and $500,000.00. The project duration is expected to take: from Notice to Proceed; Item I General construction 120 calendar days; Item II - 90 calendar days; Item 3 - 120 calendar days; or Item 4 - 90 calendar days, depending on the Alternate decided upon. Solicitation VA-244-11-IB-0181 will be available on or about March 8, 2011. Bid Opening Date will be specified in the solicitation, Bldg. #1, Rm 333W. Pre-bid conference is tentatively scheduled for March 15, 2012, at 10:00 A.M. location to be specified in the solicitation, VA Medical Center, Butler, PA 16001. This is a total service disabled veteran owned small business set-aside.
