Description

The United States Coast Guard, Surface Forces Logistics Centers, Long Range Enforcer - Contracts & Procurement Branch 2, Oakland, CA anticipates awarding sole source procurement to Wartsila Defense, INC for the following parts: Tech Rep assistance for NR1(Starboard) and NR2(Port) Shaft Stern Tube Assembly Face Insert Repair. To be repaired on the USCGC Healy (WAGB-20). These services are to be received by USCGC Healy (WAGB-20). and will be provided by Wartsila Defense, INC who is to be awarded this contract because at this time the material and services for this repair require parts and specialty knowledge from the original equipment manufacturer (OEM). Wartsila Defense, INC is the OEM and does not authorize third party manufacturers to procure their parts. Wartsila Defense, INC is the only known source who can provide these parts. They own the manuals, publications & drawings to which the Coast Guard does not have any rights to Wartsila Defense, INC is the sole proprietor. This procurement will be made on behalf of the USCGC Healy (WAGB-20). Vendor will provide all the parts listed in the Schedule of items. NAICS Code # 336611 applies to this procurement. The Government intends to solicit and negotiate with only one source under the authority of FAR 6.302. No solicitation will be issued, however all responses received on/before 0900am PST on 28, FEBRUARY 2012 will be reviewed by the Government. A determination not to compete this proposed contract based on the responses to this notice is solely within the discretion of the Government. This notice of intent is NOT a request for competitive proposals. Interested parties may identify their interest and capability to respond to the requirement or submit proposals.
