"THIS IS A SUBCONTRACTING OPPORTUNITY" Wooland Job Corps Center is having a walk-thru for auditorium HVAC Repairs-Ash hall on Monday, February 13th, 2012 at 2:00 pm Please submit your intension to attend the walk-thru to Lisa Woodall at the email below woodall.lisa@jobcorps.org you must be present at the walk-thru to submit a bid below you will find the scope of work and a hard copy of the sow will be provide to you at the time of the walk-thru During the walk-thru on Monday the 13th vendors were told that the bids would be do by February 21, st we are extending the due date for this project pending updated Scope Of Work the new do date will be February 28th, 2012 by 2:00 pm Scope of Work Auditorium HVAC Repairs-Ash Hall Def#69246 Table of Contents 1. Proposal Form Project: Auditorium HVAC Extremely Noisy Owner US Department of Labor (DOL) Center Operator: Adams And Associates, Inc Mailing Address: 3300 Fort Meade Road Laurel, Maryland 20724 Proposal Due Date: One (1) week after site visit Evaluation Criteria: Cost Schedule Evaluation of adequarcy of system propsed Financial strength of contractor to replace equipment if it does not meet specification Payment: The Center will make payment within 30 days of completion and acceptance of the project Site Visit Date; February 9th, 2012 at 10:00 am A) contractor shall visit the site and familiarize himself with eth condition under wihich the work will be performed. No allowance will be made for any error on the contractors part for failure to take into account any conditions or circumstance existion at the site which might affect the contemplate work. The fact that a bid is submitted will be taken as evidence that the contractor has full knowledge of the extent and character of contemplate work and any problem to be encountered in the performing same. 2. Project Description Scope of Project: The two air handling units located at the mezzanine level behind each side of the stage front are extremely noisy (and oni is currently not operating). The occupants cannot hear each other at a distance five feet when the units are operating, much less a speaker. This renders the space unusable for its intended use. 3. Specific Requirements: Repair the fan in the nonfunctioning air handling unit. Remove the rectagular supply air discharge grille for both units an from that point attach supply air duct. The next few duct fittings must trasition for rectangular-to-round and offset towards the exterior wall, as well as lower to an elevation below the windows. The ducts are to run nearly to rooms opposite wall. The two ducts ar to be paintable (i.e. "{aot tje ducts grip" etc.), 24 gage, internally lined, 24" round spiral, galvanized sheet metal. Paint the ducts at the center's discretion. Install ten double defection supply air grilles(withOBD's, and appropriately sized for heating) on each of the ducts (five throwing vertically down and five at a 45 degree down towards the center of the room). Hire the services of a Test and Balancing (TAB) contractor to reduce the units fan speed to 50% after the above is installed. TAB to submit a complete report. 4. Construction Requirements Center Requlations: Contractor and his employees shall abide by all of the center's rules and requlations. There shall be no fraternization between contractor personnel and Job Corps Center students or personnel. The Contractor will be required to follow all Center safety and security requirements. Management of Jobsite: The Contractor shall maitain a clean and safe workplace that is secured at the end of each working day. The Contractor shall clear all deliveries with the Center's security personnel. Wage Rates: The bidders shall conform to the latest Davis-Bacon prevailing wage rate decisions for the area. Certified Payroll: Contractor must provide certified payroll documents to Center, on a weekly basis for emplyees that worked on the project. Insurance: The Contractor shall obtain and maintain insurance as follows: Workman's Compensation/Emplyers Liability insurance, to meet Maryland statutory requirements Comprehensive General Liability ($1,000,000 per occurrence) Comprehensive Automobile liability (1,000,000/combined single limit) Fire Legal Liability($500,000 per occurrence) The Contractor must cover any deductible costs. Upon contract award, the contractor must add Woodland Job corps Center as additional named insured to the policies. Schedule: The Contractor shall submit a schedule for the work. The project shall be completed within 30 days of the award of the contract. Written authorization is required to extend 30 day completion requirements. Final Acceptance The contrator shall notify the Cente's Facility Manager when the project is substantially complete, and shall request an inspection. The completion of this inspection shall determine the date for the commencement of the warrantees, and the date for payment. 5. Proposal Form The contractor shall submit eht following information with the proposal: A list of materials and product data sheets proposed for use References Copies of Insurance Certificates Proof of valid Contractor's License for the state of Maryland Number of years in business Schedule and duration of project Detail Explanation of how project will be carried
