Description

Solicitation Number: VA118A-12-R-0052 Notice Type: Presolicitation Synopsis: Department of Veterans Affairs; Center for Acquisition Innovation - Austin; 1701 Directors Blvd, Suite 600; Austin TX 78744 is preparing to release a sole-source Request for Proposal (RFP) to Safesite, Inc., 9505 Johnny Morris Road, Austin, TX 78724, for Offsite Storage services for the Austin Information Technology Center. The offsite storage facility shall provide the safe and secure storage of disaster recovery materials in the event that a catastrophic event renders the AITC's materials processing inoperative or the AITC facility inaccessible. The contractor shall provide secure transportation of the materials from the AITC to the storage facility on a daily basis. All tapes will be transported in locked storage containers. The AITC will supply the containers and locks. Contractor shall provide two copies of shipping and receiving receipts: one for AITC records and one for storage facility's records. In the event of a catastrophic event at the AITC, the contractor shall provide secure transportation of the materials from the storage facility to the designated location specified by AITC's COTR. A critical requirement is that callbacks must be delivered within 2 hours. This sole source RFP is being solicited under the authority of FAR 6.302-1. Sources Sought/Request for Information VA118A-11-RI-0076 was posted to FBO on December 25, 2011. Only one responsible source capable of meeting the requirements in the PWS responded. A firm fixed price contract is contemplated. This action will be for a twelve (12) month base and one (1) twelve (12) month option. It is estimated that the RFP will be issued directly to Safesite Inc on March 7, 2012. In accordance with FAR 6.305 the approved sole-source J&A is provided as an attachment to this synopsis.
