- Sources Sought Notice The Department of Veterans Affairs - VA Medical Center, Saginaw is seeking information in response to this Sources Sought Notice for market research purposes only. THIS IS NOT A REQUEST FOR OFFERS. The Government is under no obligation to issue solicitation documents regarding this project. Seeking responses from qualified small businesses registered as Service Disabled Veteran Owned, Veteran Owned, Section 8a, Small Disadvantaged, Women Owned, or HUBZone capable of providing the required construction services outlined below. The North American Industry Classification System (NAICS) code for the work is 238220 with a small business size standard of $14.0 million annual average receipts over the past 3 years. Responses are to include brief summaries (date of project, location, owner's name, contract value, description of work) of at least three examples of work performed within the past three calendar years equivalent to that outlined below in the scope of work section that was predominantly accomplished directly with your own work force (not subcontracted out). This notice is not intended to seek responses from general contractors who do not possess the required experience and technical expertise within their own company. This project has specific experience and qualification requirements that will be included in any subsequent advertisement for offers. Responses to this notice must be submitted via email only to Sonny Earls- Contract Specialist at Sonny.Earls@va.gov and received no later than 2-27-2012. The email subject line must read Source Sought VA251-12-B-0114 All responses to this notice must identify the socio-economic status of the respondent as registered in the Central Contractor Registration, name and address of company, name and phone number of contact person, and DUNS number. Description of the Scope of Work: Upgrade Surgery HVAC System VA Project No.: 655-10-101 A.Provide all labor, materials, equipment, supervision, and all other necessary resources for Project 655-10-101 for replacement of HVAC systems serving the surgery suite in Building 1, located at Aleda E. Lutz VA Medical Center, Saginaw, Michigan as required by drawings and specifications. Contractor shall remove and replace existing air handling unit with new variable air volume air handler with energy recovery. Contractor shall renovate area based on the revised floor plan drawings as provided. Contractor shall remove and replace ductwork, wiring, controls and associated components to provide a complete system. Work includes general construction, carpentry, demolition, electrical, HVAC, fire protection and piping. Contractor shall design, fabricate and install walkway in 4th floor mezzanine equipment room. Contractor shall abate asbestos insulation from piping as specified. Contractor shall provide trailers as specified in this section, for use by VA Surgery Department. Contractor shall follow all applicable building codes. The contractor is responsible to perform a site survey and investigation to satisfy themselves as to the extent of the work. The period of performance for the work is 270 calendar days. Magnitude of Construction is Between: $2,000,000 and $5,000,000
