Description
On February 27, 2012 from 7:30 AM to 11:00 AM EDT, the Program Executive Officer, Littoral Combat Ships will sponsor an AN/AQS-20A Industry Day at CACI, 300 M Street Southeast, Washington DC 20003. All interested industry partners are required to proceed in to CACI 1st floor area at the Security Desk in the main lobby upon arrival. Also, all interested members are requested to provide names and company identification to Sylvester Ceasar at sylvester.ceasar@navy.mil and Jason Simpson at jason.w.simpson@navy.mil by February 24, 2012 at 1500. Registration is from 0730 to 0755 and Industry Day will begin promptly at 0800. The objective of the conference is to provide an unclassified presentation to the industry engineering community to better understand the AN/AQS-20A systems design and interface requirements. The AN/AQS-20A minehunting and identification system is comprised of acoustic and optic sensors housed in an underwater towed body. The acoustic sensors are designed for the detection, classification and localization of bottom, close-tethered, and volume targets in a single pass. An Electro-Optic sensor is used for identification of bottom mines. The system is towed from the MH-60S helicopter at high speeds and from the Remote Multi-Mission Vehicle (RMMV), as a component of the Remote Minehunting System (RMS), for longer durations. The conference will focus on current system configuration, top level performance requirements, modes of operation, interface requirements and test strategy. Interested industry partners are highly encouraged to have up to a maximum of 5 individuals in their appropriate engineering disciplines present. The conference will be held at the UNCLASSIFIED level (U.S. citizens only). The briefing will last approximately three (3) hours in duration. There will be NO opportunities for questions or discussions between individual industry representatives and Government Technical Program Office representatives. Instructions will be given at industry day regarding the submission of any questions. During Industry Day, there will be no handout material provided.
