Description

The Department of Veterans Affairs Medical Center (VAMC), 1100 Tunnel Road, Asheville, North Carolina intends to issue a solicitation for the acquisition of On-Site Interventional Radiology Services for Veteran Beneficiaries at the Charles George VAMC, Asheville, NC. Services are a necessity for emergent patient care to be performed approximately one (1) day per week by an Interventional Radiologist on-site at the VAMC Asheville, NC. The contractor must be located within a close proximity to the VAMC Asheville, NC, in order to provide a response time of within 45 minutes of notification for on-site follow-up care after invasive procedures. All Interventional Radiologists must be granted privileges by the Asheville VAMC and undergo a background investigation. The physicians performing services are required to be board certified in Diagnostic Radiology with a Certificate of Added Qualification (CAQ) in Interventional Radiology or Neuroninterventional Radiology, and meet the professional qualifications of the Department of Veterans Affairs. In addition, physicians must be licensed in a state, territory or commonwealth of the United States or the District of Columbia. Board certified Interventional Radiologists will perform a full range of interventional radiology services typically provided in a comparable civilian health care facility, including follow-up services, and will perform services on-site at the Charles George VAMC Asheville, NC, within the VAMC privileges granted. The NAICS Code for this requirement is 621111 with a size standard of $10Million. This acquisition is unrestricted. A Firm Fixed price type contract with a 6 or 12 month base period of performance with the possibility of four (4) one (1) year option periods which will be exercised at the Government's discretion are anticipated under this solicitation. A formal Request for Proposal (RFP) in accordance with Federal Acquisition Regulation (FAR) Part 12 Acquisition of Commercial Items and FAR Part 15 Contracting by Negotiation will be issued on or about February 15, 2012 via FEDBIZOPPS at www.fedbizopps.gov. It is the responsibility of potential offerors to monitor the website for downloading the solicitation and any amendments.
