- Request for Information USAF Control and Reporting Center - AACE Nozzle Assembly The Government is performing market research to determine potential sources of manufacture of a Nozzle assembly. The Government's objectives and requirements of the potential source are to 1. Manufacture quantity of 1500 new nozzles per drawing requirements. a. Nozzles made from 4130 steel with RC hardness of 21-40 b. Fwd end of nozzle approximaetly3/8" diameter, aft end ¾" diameter, nozzle approximately 1" long. Tightest tolerance on machining drawing is +/-.001" c. Nozzle to be plated with.0005" nickel followed by.0005 tin, tolerance +/-.0001 d. Nozzle shall have a seal over one end consisting of.0015" (+/-.0001")thick aluminum which is plated with.0002 thick copper and.0002' tin, tolerance +/-.0001. e. The seal is to be soldered to the nozzle forming a tight seal. The leak check requirements for the nozzle seal are 1 x 10 -7 CC per sec at 20 PSI pressure. 2. Must be capable of developing special test equipment (the Government does not possess any sort of test equipment) to perform leak and burst testing of the nozzle seal. 3. All products manufactured under this effort shall be considered Air Force property and shall have no license encumbrances This notification is for market research purposes to identify potential contractors who have the skills, experience, and knowledge required to successfully complete this effort for Hill Air Force Base, Utah and does not constitute a commitment, implied or otherwise, that a procurement will be accomplished. This is not a request for proposal or invitation for bid. To be considered as a potential manufacturer/supplier source for this requirement, a Contractor will be required to submit technical data, in response to a solicitation, verifying their capabilities to produce/supply these items. The Contractor will be required to verify to the Government that the items are within Original Equipment Manufacturer (OEM) specifications. Respondents to this request will be retained in a file and subsequently provided a copy of the Request for Proposal (RFP) when issued. Responding to this request in no manner guarantees a contract will be awarded to the respondent for the manufacture/supply of this item. All information received in response to this announcement that is marked Proprietary will be handled accordingly. Responses will not be returned. In accordance with FAR 15.201(e), a response to this notice is not an offer and cannot be accepted by the government to form a binding contract. Responders are solely responsible for all expenses associated with responding to this announcement.
