Description

The National Cemetery Administration is soliciting offers under Solicitation No. VA786-12-R-0071 for the following: The purpose of this requisition is to supply Blank Granite Columbarium Niche Covers for Santa Fe National Cemetery on a One Time Basis. Scope of Work Source of supply All stone shall be obtained from quarries within the United States of America, having adequate capacity and facilities to meet the specified requirements. Cutting and finishing shall be done by a manufacturer equipped to process the material promptly and in strict accordance with these specifications. Workmanship Each niche cover shall be free from defects in workmanship. Chips, cracks, open seams, or abraded edges, shall not be permitted and the repair or patching of any such defects is prohibited and shall be cause for rejection. Spalling around holes on the backside shall not extend more than ¼" from the wall of the borings nor be more than 3/32" deep. The covers shall be free of ink, oil, crayon marks, dirt, coatings, sealers and stone dust. Workmanship quality shall be in accordance with industry standards and practices. Submittal by Potential Offerors Potential offerors shall submit at their expense one (1) blank granite niche cover according to the specifications listed in Section 3.0 above. Sample shall be representative of the stone to be used, the finish to be attained and the placement and diameter of the holes to be drilled. Testing results for the sample shall be submitted per Section 6.0. The sample and testing results shall be submitted by the closing date of the solicitation. The sample shall be marked clearly on the back with indelible marker, showing contractor name, solicitation number, quarry source of stone and name of stone. Any sample which arrives damaged shall not be acceptable. Sample shall be received by Memorial Programs Service (MPS) prior to closing date. If the sample is disapproved by MPS, you will receive notification by the Contracting Officer and you shall have until the closing date of solicitation to resubmit samples. NO samples shall be accepted after closing date. All work shall be performed in accordance with the specifications, drawings, terms and conditions of the contract. This acquisition is 100% Small Business Set-Aside. The NAICS Code is 327991. Size standard of 500 Employees is applicable. Evaluation criteria for this award will be in the following descending order: 1) Price 2) Technical 3) Past Performance. Electronic solicitations will be available for download from Federal Business Opportunities http://www.FedBizOpps.gov on or around February 13, 2012. Responses to the solicitation are due by 2:00 p.m., February 27, 2012. Offerors are advised that they are responsible for obtaining amendments to the solicitation which is available at FedBizOpps.
