Description
PROPOSERS' DAY PROPOSERS' DAY CONFERENCE DARPA will host a Proposers' Day Workshop in support of DARPA-BAA-12-22, Military Imaging and Surveillance Technology - Long Range (MIST-LR), on February 23, 2012, at Schafer Corporation, Suite 300, 3811 North Fairfax Drive, Arlington, VA 22203 from 9:00 a.m. to 4:00 p.m. Eastern. The purpose of this conference is to provide information on the MIST program; promote additional discussion on this topic; address questions from potential proposers; and provide a forum for potential proposers to present their capabilities for teaming opportunities. PROGRAM OBJECTIVE AND DESCRIPTION: The Military Imaging and Surveillance Technology program is developing fundamentally new electro-optic sensing capabilities to be used on airborne and ground platforms for target identification and tracking applications. The MIST-LR element of the program will focus on long-range geometric and 3-D imaging technology that will allow for target characterization beyond the physical-aperture diffraction-limit of the receiver system. New sensing methods and techniques will be developed based on, but not limited to: •· Computational imaging •· Synthetic-aperture imaging •· Digital holography •· Multi-static laser radar •· Angle-resolved imaging based on light transport analysis Current optical imaging systems can provide the capability to identify targets for specific applications or scenarios, however these systems have significant limitations defined by their size and operational range. The physical aperture of the imaging receiver, the effects of atmospheric turbulence, performance of the receiver array, the power of the illumination source, and the image formation algorithms are the primary defining characteristics of active imaging systems. DARPA believes that to meet the final program objectives, it will be necessary to implement the new sensing methods developed in MIST-LR to address all of these areas. REGISTRATION INFORMATION: Participants must register NLT February 20, 2012, via an email to BAA-12-22@darpa.mil with subject line "Proposers' Day Workshop Registration". There is no registration fee for attending this conference. Due to space limitations of the conference facility, attendance will be limited to the first sixth (60) registrants, and no more than two (2) representatives per organization. When registering for the conference, please include the following information in the body of the email: •· Full Name •· Company Name •· Company Mailing Address •· Email •· Phone •· Fax (if applicable) •· A brief statement that details the organization's expertise and experience in long-range imaging systems A SECRET clearance will be required for this meeting. Clearances must be passed by February 21, 2012, using one of the methods below. Point of Contact (POC) information should be annotated as: MIST-LR Proposers' Day Workshop. JPAS (preferred method): SMO Code 9M027. In JPAS, list the Program Manager as the POC for the visit/meeting. Do not list Schafer Security personnel as the POC unless specifically instructed to do so. Fax: Schafer Special Security Office, 3811 North Fairfax Drive, Suite 400, Arlington, VA 22203. Primary Fax: (703) 516-6031. Alternate Fax: (703) 516-6043. Any security related questions and concerns should be directed to Dustin Heath at 703- 516-3206 or Dustin.Heath@Mantech.com. The Proposers' Day does not constitute a formal solicitation for proposals or proposal abstracts. Attendance is voluntary and is not required to propose to any potential related Broad Agency Announcements or potential research solicitations on this topic. DARPA will not provide reimbursement for any costs incurred to participate in this Proposer's Day.
