- Notice of Intent to award sole source contract. This is not a solicitation. The Department of Veterans Affairs, Providence, Rhode Island (Network Contracting Office 1 (New England) 650/90C) intends to negotiate and award a contract to Intuitive Surgical, Inc., 950 Kifer Road, Sunnyvale, CA 94086 (DUNS 938647021). The services are as follows: Provide a preventive maintenance contract to include proprietary software upgrades to maintain the Intuitive Surgical Model Da Vinci S HD Robot System (Government Owned Equipment) for surgical procedures. The equipment is currently being used in the Operating Room at the VA Health Care System, West Haven Campus in Connecticut. Intuitive Surgical, Inc. is the only company that can provide software upgrades, maintenance and repair of proprietary parts for this equipment. The period of performance is being established for a Base Year to include two (2) one (1) option year renewals. The authority for this action is FAR 6.302-1. This notice contains information current through FAC 2005-55. The NAICS is 339112. The PSC is J065. No solicitation will be posted to this site. Interested persons may contact the Contract Specialist regarding this procurement and may identify capabilities for items of this kind. A decision not to compete this requirement is based upon this notice, the responses to this notice and the Justification and Approval to be posted to this site.
