Description
Sources Sought for Passive Radio Frequency Identification (pRFID) II. The Project Manager Joint-Automatic Identification Technology (PM J-AIT) has a requirement to provide a single point of contact for procurement and technical expertise across the suite of Automatic Identification Technology (AIT) enabling technologies that support focused logistics, Total Asset Visibility (TAV), and the integration of global supply chains. Army Contracting Command - Rock Island is issuing this Request for Information (RFI) to identify potential companies (sources) capable of, and interested in providing, hardware, software, documentation, and, incidental services to authorized users worldwide. Incidental services include site surveys, installation, training, warranty and maintenance services, and technical engineering services (TES). All Passive RFID hardware will conform to the EPC Global Class 1, Generation 2 Standards / Specifications for each Class of Tags, Readers, and Printers. In addition, future requirements involving portal readers, extended memory Tags, sensor enabled Tags, and smart fixed readers will be reviewed on a biannual basis to determine applicability with regard to Government use and implementation. Hardware and software delivery and installation, as well as performance of associated training and warranty and maintenance services, will be required at CONUS and OCONUS Government sites. Performance of TES will be required at CONUS and OCONUS Government sites, and the Contractor facility. Potential NAICS codes are 334111, Electronic Computer Manufacturing; and 334220, Radio and Television Broadcasting and Wireless Communications Equipment Manufacturing. This request is for planning purposes only; it is not a request for proposal. No solicitation exists at this time and there is no guarantee a formal solicitation will be issued by the Government as a result of responses to this RFI. The Government will not be liable for payment of any response preparation expenses. Interested parties are responsible for adequately marking proprietary or competition sensitive information contained in their response. Companies capable of and interested in providing these services to the U.S. Army are invited to respond with a ten (10) page maximum White Paper detailing their ability to provide these passive Radio Frequency Identification products and services. The response must describe the company's capability and experience in providing such products and services, both in-plant and on-site, CONUS and OCONUS. The response must provide details of the company's experience in providing global passive Radio Frequency Identification products and support. Proprietary and/or competition sensitive information submitted in response to this RFI announcement shall be conspicuously marked so and will be protected as such by the Government recipient. All interested firms that possess the capabilities addressed herein are encouraged to respond to the RFI by providing the information specified within 7 days of this announcement. Respondents are requested to submit one electronic copy of the response to Ms. Jennifer Reisen at jennifer.m.reisen.civ@mail.mil and Klaus.stroup.civ@mail.mil. Include RFI No. pRFID II in the subject line. NOTE: the use of a RFI number is for tracking purposes only.
