- Description
- Industry Day Presentation of the Defense Threat Reduction Agency’s (DTRA) Cooperative Threat Reduction (CTR) Directorate Logistics Support Services On Tuesday, March, 20, 2012, the Defense Threat Reduction Agency's (DTRA) contracting activity and Cooperative Threat Reduction (CTR) Directorate will host an Industry Day to discuss the CTR Logistics Support Services Program. The Industry Day will take place at Booz Allen and Hamilton (BAH) 8209 Terminal Road, Suite 700, Lorton, VA 22079 from 0800 to 1700 EST. BAH is CTRs Advisory and Assistance Services contractor. Background : With the passage of the Soviet Nuclear Threat Reduction Act of 1991, Senators Sam Nunn and Richard Lugar enabled a far reaching program that responds to the threat of proliferation of nuclear, chemical and biological Weapons of Mass Destruction (WMD) and related expertise and knowledge. The CTR program provides assistance to the Former Soviet Union (FSU) and other partner countries in order to dismantle WMD and to reduce the threat of proliferation of WMD material, technology, and expertise. As the CTR program matures and expands its scope, its support requirements are increasing. While still conducting operations in the Former Soviet Union (FSU), the emphasis has shifted to infrastructure and other support services beyond the FSU. The primary objective of the Operations Enterprise - CTR Program Integration Division (OP-CTI) is to develop and implement a comprehensive logistics program to enable CTR projects to accomplish their mission goals for world-wide operations, across all programs, throughout all areas of responsibility (AOR) in support of CTR missions.
