- Description
- NASA/LaRC has a requirement for custom-designed miniature unsteady pressuretransducers.NASA/LaRC intends to purchase the items from Kulite Semiconductor Products, Inc. Thesetransducers are for use in the HL-SLS buffet model and must be interchangeable withpreviously procured transducers installed in the Ares I-X and Ares I RBM, whichrepresents a significant investment in Kulite-based instrumentation. It would takesubstantial duplication of resources and time for another source to provide a similarproduct, and this additional expense is not expected to be recovered through competition. The Government intends to acquire a commercial item using FAR Part 12.Interested organizations may submit their capabilities and qualifications to perform theeffort in writing to the identified point of contact not later than 4:30 p.m. local timeon 2/7/2012. Such capabilities/qualifications will be evaluated solely for the purposeof determining whether or not to conduct this procurement on a competitive basis. Adetermination by the Government not to compete this proposed effort on a full and opencompetition basis, based upon responses to this notice, is solely within the discretionof the government.Oral communications are not acceptable in response to this notice.All responsible sources may submit an offer which shall be considered by the agency.NASA Clause 1852.215-84, Ombudsman, is applicable.
