- This is a Special Notice only. THIS IS NOT A REQUEST FOR PROPOSALS, QUOTATIONS OR BIDS. There will not be a solicitation available at this time. The Government is conducting market research under FAR 10.002(b)(viii). The Contracting Department, U.S. Marine Corps Base, Camp Lejeune, NC will host an Industry Day on 02 February 2012to inform the industry of a new procurement to support the Contractor Operated Automotive Parts Store (COPARS) for the Garrison Mobile Equipment Branch, located at Marine Corps Logistics Base (MCLB) Albany, Ga. This is a follow-on action to the existing COPARS contract, which expires 01 April 2012. The Industry Day will provide an overview of the existing Contractor Operated Automotive Parts Store, and the more detailed aspects of the COPARS requirement. The Contracting Department, MCB, Camp Lejeune, will conduct an Industry Day in anticipation of the Request for proposal (RFP). When released, the RFP will be posted to the Federal Business Opportunities (FBO) website, http://www.fedbizopps.gov. The Garrison Mobile Equipment Branch located at Marine Corps Logistics Base (MCLB) Albany, GA has a requirement for all services necessary for the operation of a Contractor Operated Automobile Parts Store (COPARS). This requirement will include furnishing of automotive and related vehicle parts for various makes and models of vehicles and equipment maintained by Garrison Mobile Equipment Branch (GME), Marine Corps Logistics Base, Albany, GA. The Contractor will be required to provide all services, supplies, vehicle parts, transportation, and management for operation of this store. Attendance at the Industry Day is voluntary is not a prerequisite to submit proposals on subsequent solicitations (if any). The Industry Day does not constitute a formal solicitation for proposals or abstracts. This announcement is issued solely for information and planning purposes and is not a Request for Information (RFI). Since this is not an RFI, no submissions against this notice will be accepted by the Government. Contracting Department, CLNC, will not provide reimbursement for cost incurred to participate in this Industry Day. Interested parties to this notice are cautioned that nothing herein obligates the Government to issue a solicitation. The intended period of performance is to be a maximum of 3 years (base ordering period of one (1) year and 2 optional one (1) year ordering periods) and optional six (6) months extension of services period. The purpose of this Industry Day is to determine interest and capability of potential qualified small businesses. All interested parties are invited to attend. The anticipated North American Industry Classification System (NAICS) code for this program is 441310. In order to promote an informative and successful Industry Day, attendance is by advance registration only. The event will be held at 814 Radford Blvd, Bldg 5400, Albany, GA 31704, and will start promptly at 0900 and run through 1500 hrs. Seating is limited and therefore registration is limited to no more than three (3) representatives per company. Only those with a confirmed registration will be premitted to attend. Registration may be accomplished by emailing your company information and a list of representatives attending to Patricia Madison patricia.madison@usmc.mil no later than 31 January 2012. The information presented will be unclassified; and, aside from registration, no other information is required. The purpose of the Industry Day is to inform industry of the new requirement, gather market research information and allow the participants the opportunity to discuss the requirement in a more in-depth fashion with technical personnel and to solicit best industry practices to meet the Government requirement. The Government will not entertain questions related to the incumbent performance during this session.
