- ******* Amendment to Synopsis ********* This amendment changes the site showing date from January 24, 2012 to January 31, 2012 at 9:00 a.m. It also changes the directions for entering the installation at Fort Jackson, South Carolina. See information below for new directions for entering Fort Jackson, South Carolina. Interested parties are invited to attend a pre-bid meeting and site showing on Tuesday, January 31, 2012 at 9:00 AM at the Directorate of Public Works Conference Room located in Building #2562 at intersection of Essayons Way and Engineer Road at Fort Jackson, South Carolina. Directions to the pre-bid conference are as follows depending upon the gate of entry: CURRENTLY MOTORISTS IN A PERSONAL VEHICLE MAY ENTER THROUGH ANY OF THE OPEN GATES PROVIDED THAT ALL PERSONNEL IN THE VEHICLE HAVE A VALID GOVERNMENT ISSUED IDENTIFICATION(ie. Driver's License). SECURITY PERSONNEL MAY SCAN YOUR ID AND ASK FOR THE PURPOSE OF YOUR VISIT. For individuals driving a Privately Operated Vehicle, enter Gate #2 (Forest Drive at Exit 12); After leaving the security checkpoint at Gate #2, continue on Strom Thurmond Blvd to the 3rd traffic light (Marion Ave.). Turn right on Marion Avenue and go approximately 0.25 mile past the 2nd traffic light. Turn left onto Engineer Road and go to the stop sign at end of road. Building 2562 is on the right. Enter front door of building and proceed down the hallway to the end. The conference room is on the left. Park in unmarked spaces in the parking lot adjacent to the building. For individuals driving commercial or company-owned Vehicle, enter Gate #4 (Percival Road). For vehicles that enter Fort Jackson using Gate #4 (contractor entrance) at Boyden Arbor and Percival Road (Hwy.12), this entrance is accessed from Exit 15 (Percival Road West) off I-77. Follow signs to the first traffic light at highway overpass. After you have departed the security checkpoint, continue on Boyden Arbor to the stop sign. Turn right onto Dixie Rd. for 0.8 miles. Turn left onto Hampton Parkway (divided 4 lane road) and go 0.35 mile. Turn right onto Marion Avenue, (not Kemper St.) that is a 2 lane street at this point and will later widen to 4 lanes. Marion Avenue travels directly in front of the Army Drill Sergeant School. Continue on Marion Avenue and travel approximately 0.25 mile past the 3rd traffic light. Turn left onto Engineer Road and go to the stop sign at end of road. Building 2562 is on the right. Enter through the front door of building and proceed down the hallway to the end. The Conference room is on the left. Park in unmarked spaces in parking lot adjacent to the building. A site showing will follow immediately after the meeting. End of Amendment The proposed contract involves installation of erosion control practices for 3 sites within the boundaries of Fort Jackson Military Reservation near Columbia, South Carolina. The work includes the re-grading of unimproved roads, application of recycled crushed asphalt, seeding and mulch application, construction of waterways, broad base dip and shaping of channels and turnout; earthfill installation and erosion control blanket placement. Major items of work includes an approximated : 1.7 Acres of seeding ; 1710 L.F. of waterways; 1440 Tons or recycled asphalt; 20 L.F. of 15" reinforced concrete pipe installation; 400 C.Y. of earthfill installation; 6400 S.Y of erosion control blanket installation ; and 600 L.F. of broad base dip construction. The above quantities are only an estimate and may vary slightly. The performance time is 70 calendar days (including mobilization), and the estimated price range is between $30,000 and $100,000. The NAICS code for this procurement is 237990. The solicitation package will be available for viewing and/or downloading from website, www.fbo.gov, on or about January 9, 2012.
